Yeşim CeylanMath teacher and student coach

Hi, I'm Yeşim Ceylan.

After my bachelor's and master's degrees, I spent more than 10 years teaching math and working as an administrator at private education institutions in Turkey. I now live in Germany and teach online.

  • Middle and high school
  • LGS and IB
  • Turkish and English
My approach

Math isn't a set of formulas to memorise; once you see the logic, it's a fun puzzle that makes life easier.

Drawing it on the board

I teach on a digital whiteboard, sketching on my iPad. When an abstract idea turns into a picture step by step, the logic is easier to see.

Examples from real life

We work on problems with examples from everyday life, even from art, so students see where math is actually useful.

Starting from each student's level

I motivate every student from where they are. My goal is for them to gain confidence in math.

The mathYesim platform

Built for live lessons

I designed mathYesim to hold smooth, interactive and productive live lessons with my students, one-to-one and in small groups. Here I guide every student to learn at their own pace and with curiosity.

Sample parent reportRight after class
TopicSquare root expressions
Readiness4/5
Homework done, came prepared.
Participation5/5
Wanted to solve the questions on their own.
Emotional state4/5
Shy at first, relaxed as the lesson went on.
Learning4/5
Understood taking factors out of the root; a little more practice on rationalising the denominator would help.

Practice this week: Book p. 42, 1–10

Written feedback after every lesson

When the lesson ends, the student gets a short, encouraging summary and the family gets a report, heading by heading.

  • The student knows what to practise
  • The family follows progress from lesson to lesson
  • The next lesson picks up where we left off

Feedback isn't a one-off, it's a loop

  1. Lesson

We work through the topic together.

  2. Feedback

Right after class: what went well, what to practise?

  3. Practice

The student focuses on the gap; the family knows where things stand.

  4. Follow-up

The next lesson starts right there. Small gaps are caught before they grow.

Continuous follow-up: the loop starts again

Let's meet

Write to me to talk about what your child needs, and we'll set up a short call. Sign-up to mathYesim is by an invitation I send after we've talked.
